Control of Work System Development

Requirement:

To improve safety levels across the field, minimise the potential for accidents and to protect its workforce. An international O&G Operator with an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement with a state-owned public corporation to operate offshore Doha, Qatar approached Stirling Group with a view to developing a paper based Control of Work system on multiple assets across the in the Al Shaheen field.

Solution

Stirling Group responded by developing complete bespoke Control of Work system with associated procedures and processes in managing potentially hazardous work.

A project team was formed that included client workforce involvement so that these individuals could act as system champions, thereby gaining the necessary buy-in and a seamless transition from old to new.

Stirling Group provided subject matter expertise, graphical input and printed material. The system was designed to reflect industry best practice, yet written in an easy to understand format for a multi-national workforce. It has the potential to convert to electronic process at a later date.

Value Added

Increased level of awareness of health and safety procedures and how potentially hazardous work is managed thereby enabling a greater understanding and respect of systems throughout the offshore workforce. Staff morale has also improved as a result of employees recognising the investment that has been made in their safety and professional development.
