Technical Training for Oil and Gas Industry Leaders



Requirement:


As IOCs, NOCs, OFS and EPCs operations across the Middle East and Africa increase, they have a greater responsibility and requirement to provide training for local national and expatriate personnel. Since 2003, we have provided training, both pre-deployment and continuous, for workforces operating in challenging environments.


We have a strong track-record in supporting the energy sector in industry-specific vocational training, HSE, English language and security operations both in-country and IOC home countries.



Stirling Group Training Contracts:


2010 – on-going: Production, Operations plus Maintenance Training package delivered by 20 expatriate and one local expert instructor to 300 Iraqi employees over three years. The multilingual team delivered the training via interactive classroom-based lessons, simulator-based training and practical training, all on-site at the Majnoon oil field production stations.


Training services include:


  • Development of a SVQ Level 2 training course, in collaboration with Lowestoft College
  • Creation of a range of technical modules within the Production, Operations and Maintenance disciplines
  • English Language Training
  • HSSE, Permit to Work, Technical Engineering and mechanical skill development modules
  • Assessment in line with OPITO standards

2011 – on-going: HSE and Control of Work Awareness for 600 Iraqi employees through Structured Learning Programmes, delivered in Arabic at a dedicated training centre in the United Kingdom.


Training development and delivery includes:


  • Initial Competence Assessment
  • E-Learning
  • Trainer-led knowledge acquisition and role-related career development planning

2013 – on-going: English Language, HSE and Site Operations and Maintenance Training


This eight-month programme delivered to oil and gas professionals saw us plan and deliver a wide range of training services in preparation for the client to work on their Iraq concessions.


Training services include:


  • Intensive residential technical English language training in the Russia (IOC home country)
  • Pre-deployment HSE, Hostile Environment, First Aid and site awareness training
  • On-site technical introduction and induction training on the Iraqi concession
  • Operations and Maintenance training of all plan equipment and the HSE background to work safely

2011- 2012: Level 2 Accredited Foundation Award in Security Operations


This training programme was designed to develop and up-skill the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) supplier's existing security personnel.


Training services included:


  • Security in the wide context of risk mitigation
  • Developing skills in the use of CCTV, access control, close protection
  • Identifying situations and the cause of action to take via communication, reporting, conflict management
  • Engraining best practice in patrolling and searching, First Aid and the proper use of emergency systems and equipment

2013-on-going: Delivery of over 30 separate internationally accredited HSE courses related to the safe operations and practice on a series of rigs in Northern Iraq.


Training services include:


  • Provision of programme consultancy and Training Needs Analysis
  • Designing bespoke training modules specific to the needs of the client
  • Producing training matrix and scheduling of courses for 120 persons over a 6 month period
  • Delivery of both theoretical and practical internationally accredited training modules
  • Manage and operate a purpose built Learning Management System
